The 2006 Dauphin Island Show was held on April 9^th (Palm Sunday).  The weatherman smiled on us once again with cool weather in the low 70s and a cloudless blue sky.  Of course the weather this year was not always so agreeable.  Dauphine Islandtook a hard hit from Katrina the previous August and the school house did not escape the fury.  Although the structure remained intact, Katrina dumped four feet of sand on the property.  Bulldozers disposed of the sand but along with most of the grass.  Thus as can be seen in the picture, the grounds looked more like the Sahara desert than Dauphin Island . Nevertheless, it was the biggest and best show ever.  Plenty of people showed up.  Thanks to the efforts of John Miller and his crew from the PTO there was plenty of great food and Tee shirts for everybody.  John says they made a whopping $3200 this year, again a new record.  The best of show went to Dan Kramer and his 1946 Indian Chief. As usual, we tried to take pictures of all of the bikes but we did miss a few. If your bike is missing we apologize.
